This is a Marantz PMD-511 Dual Well Cassette Tape Player/Recorder. These units are professional grade and hard to come by these days. Each tape well can be used independently of one-another; so you can play or record on either well at the same time. This particular unit is in fair-to-good physical shape, there are some nicks on the face and some dents on the side/top of the cover. The dents are purely cosmetic and did not affect the unit at all. The largest of the scratches is just on top of the unit where "Marantz" is printed. It's on the top; so if you have other components that you place on top of it you won't notice it; same if you install it in a rack. There's also a scratch on Tape Well A (in the clear part). I popped the cover off and everything looks perfect inside. There are many more pictures below so you can see the front & back of the unit. These units are very configurable and can be controlled remotely as well. This is essentially the same as the PMD510 unit, the PMD511 adds Automatic Gain Control (AGC), microphone inputs and a GPI control port. Unit was powered on and both decks play and record with no issues. Auction is for the pictured tape deck only; I don't have a power cord for it but it uses a standard 3-prong IEC power cord.
