Nakamichi RX-505 (1983 - 1992+) The RX-505 was and despite its gimmicky appearance and operation, an updated Nakamichi masterpiece : updated drive, updated electronics, updated... auto-reverse ! Like on the contemporary Dragon CT and TX-1000, instead of devising complex mechanical arrangements to perfect auto-reverse, Nakamichi found a way to do away with the inherent problems of the concept and had either the tape itself turn around the heads (RX series) or the platter be nudged to avoid off-center induced distortions and wow from LPs ! Deck was recently serviced. All belts, idler tire were replaced. It was realigned and calibrated with Nakamichi alignment tapes( not for sale). Deck is in perfect working and cosmetic condition. Copy of the owners manual is included.
