Look at the specifications and compare them to current CD specifications. The dynamic range is excellent. You will not be disappointed with the sound of this player. I do not have a remote. I will include a manual that I printed from the internet. This player is garanteed not to be DOA. It is used and has a few small scratches from moving over the years, but nothing major.
